🚀 1. What is KeyPal Card?

KeyPal Card is a mnemonic secure storage and signing tool that interacts with TokenPocket Wallet via NFC (Near Field Communication). It ensures the security of your mnemonics and provides a convenient signing function for transactions.

It solves the problem of mnemonic loss and unsafe handwritten backups, allowing you to securely store and manage mnemonics offline, without the need for internet access.

🔹 2. Core Functions of KeyPal Card

📌 1. Backup Existing Mnemonics from TokenPocket Wallet For users who already have a TokenPocket wallet and want a more secure mnemonic storage solution. Mnemonics are encrypted and protected by a PIN code, then stored securely on the card’s chip. The mnemonic can only be read when the correct PIN code is entered. 🛡️ Purpose: To store mnemonics securely within KeyPal Card, preventing leaks.

📌 2. Generate New Mnemonics in TokenPocket and Backup to KeyPal Card For users who want to create a new wallet from scratch and store only the mnemonic on KeyPal Card.

📌 NFC Transaction Signing: Every time you make a transfer, you will need to swipe the KeyPal Card to sign the transaction, ensuring the security of the private key. 🛡️ Purpose: To store mnemonics offline and prevent exposure in networked devices.

🔹 3. KeyPal Card Usage Guide

✅ Method 1: Backup Mnemonics Only For users who already have a TokenPocket wallet and want to securely store mnemonics on the KeyPal Card. 🔹 Steps:

  1. Open TokenPocket and go to wallet details. Select “Export Mnemonic/Private Key.”

  2. Choose “Backup with KeyPal Card” and ensure NFC is enabled on your phone.

  3. Hold the KeyPal Card near your phone’s NFC area, and the system will automatically encrypt and store the mnemonic.

  4. Set a PIN code for encrypting the mnemonic storage (make sure you don’t forget the PIN).

  5. The backup is complete, and the mnemonic is securely encrypted and stored on the KeyPal Card. 💡 Note: To restore the mnemonic to a different device, simply import it using the KeyPal Card.

✅ Method 2: Mnemonics Stored Only on KeyPal Card, Using NFC for Offline Signing For users who want to store mnemonics offline and use the KeyPal Card for signing transactions.

🔹 Steps:

  1. Open TokenPocket and tap the “Wallet +” option in the top right. Then select “KeyPal Hardware Wallet” and choose the “KeyPal Card” add method.

  2. In the add method selection, choose “Create Wallet,” complete wallet setup, and backup the mnemonic. Note: During the backup process, enable NFC signing by checking the box “After import, do not save the mnemonic on this device.”

  3. Hold the KeyPal Card near the phone’s NFC area. The mnemonic will be encrypted and stored on the card’s chip.

  4. Set a PIN code for identity verification when signing transactions. For transactions:

  5. Go to TokenPocket Wallet, select the wallet with the “Card” suffix, and initiate a transfer.

  6. Hold the KeyPal Card near the phone’s NFC area.

  7. Enter the PIN code and complete the signing process.

💡 Note: Enabling NFC signing requires checking “Do not save mnemonic on this device after import.” Every transaction requires swiping the KeyPal Card and verifying the PIN for signing, enhancing security.

🔒 4. Security of KeyPal Card

  • Mnemonics are stored in a SE (Secure Element) chip, and cannot be read, copied, or attacked without the correct PIN code.

  • PIN code protection ensures that even if the KeyPal Card is lost, others cannot decrypt the mnemonic. After 9 incorrect PIN attempts, the card will reset.

  • Offline storage, no internet connection, eliminating online hacker attacks.

  • NFC physical interaction ensures that transactions require physical card signing, preventing remote attacks.

🎯 5. Conclusion

KeyPal Card provides a secure and efficient way to store mnemonics and sign transactions. It’s ideal for users who want to hold assets securely long-term or those who prioritize extreme security.

✅ Offline mnemonic storage ensures your wallet is securely backed up without worries.

✅ NFC transaction signing: every transaction is safely confirmed with a quick card swipe, providing high security and efficiency!
